F.A.Q

Q: How did you find your style?

I see images in everything. As I was playing around with water colours I decided to pour spill some, let them dry and see what happens. I saw a clear image and decided to trace it with a pencil, the next day i tried the same thing and magical creature and figures appeared, this is how I've discovered my colour technique.
I started painting when I was 26 while I was going through an emotional storm as a means to express and release, I used to sit every day and allow my feelings to spill onto the paper, the charcoal images evoked difficult emotions and weren’t easy to look at as they reflected back what I felt, yet this was a powerful way to connect to my unspoken vulnerable emotions, to what was lying underneath and just wanted to be seen.

Q: Do you use archival, environmentally friendly materials?

I use 100% cotton rag acid-free paper that features a smooth natural white finish and 300gsm paper weight for prints. Most originals are painted on cellulose-cold pressed, acid free paper, between 120-300gsm (depending on the painting). Your prints will feature smooth tonal transitions and vibrant colour that makes the artwork pop off the paper.

Q: What painting materials do you use?

I've been using Winsor & Newton watercolours and their watercolour markers as well. I have a modest set of colours as I love to combine and create. For Pencils I use Daler-Rowney Artists' Watercolour Pencils. For Charcoal I use the Artist Willow Chracoal ,and Vine and Compressed Charcoal as well.

I use many different brushes for acrylics mainly Galeria brushes as well as a few other synthetic brushes and for the watercolour painting I hardly use any brush at all as I allow the paint to pour and draw from whatever shape comes up.

Lately have been working with Daler-Rowney's Langton Prestige Watercolour Paper, I have used Canson Montval Aquarelle, cold-pressed and several other Sketchbooks as I like trying out different papers.

Q: Does your print come with a certificate of authenticity?

Prints are each stamped, signed and dated.

Q: Do you help customers with the selection of frames for your artwork?
